Japanese Lessons & Tutoring in Brisbane
Welcome to Little Japan!
We’re a new Japanese language and cultural community based in Brisbane, Queensland. Our aim is to share the rich, colourful and diverse culture Japan has to offer with our local community.
Our native Japanese teachers offer both 1-on-1 and group tutoring sessions for people of all ages. We’re committed to designing lesson plans that help you achieve your Japanese language goals.
School & Kindergarten Workshops
We provide workshops to kindergartens, day care centres and primary schools to give students a unique look into Japanese culture. Our activities are fun and interactive for children of all ages, with a unique “learning through play” approach.
When you work with Little Japan, our teachers will develop a curated lesson plan designed with a variety of interactive classes including origami, calligraphy and role play. Many of our activities are also based around traditional Japanese events, including Tanabta (Star Festival), Hina-matsuri (Girl’s Day), Setsubun (Seasonal Festival) and Bunkasai (Cultural Festival).

Adult Lessons
We offer tailored Japanese lessons for all stages of your Japanese learning journey. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to work abroad in Japan, our teachers can create the perfect learning plan for you.

Student Tutoring
Our teachers specialise in teaching children from Year 1 all the way to their final years of study in Year 12. We offer a range of after hours tutoring sessions to ensure your children can fit the best possible education into their busy schedule.

Custom Workshops
If you’re a company, school or event organiser, our staff also provide fun and interactive workshops in Calligraphy, Japanese language and more for your workplace or the local community.

Homework Club
Based on-campus and closely partnered with Wellers Hill State School, we offer after school tutoring and homework support to students in Year 1 to Year 6. Classes run from 3:00pm - 4:15pm on Mondays and Wednesday during the school term.

Early Learning Program
If you’re an early learning centre and would like your children to learn about Japanese language and culture, we have term-based programs where we can come to your centre and teach children through our unique interactive lessons.

Chat Time
If you want to meet new people and practice your language skills, Chat Time is a perfect option. Held at the Wellers Hill Girls Guide on a regular basis, we provide a relaxed environment with set themes for Japanese learners and English leaners alike to chat with a native speaker and level up their language learning.

JLPT Classes
We offer exclusive JLPT classes to Wellers Hill State School alumni for those that are interested in furthering their Japanese studies and tackling the JLPT exams. This is also a perfect option for students who have graduated and are interested in maintaining their Japanese level.
